My Macey-girl was sick all weekend. It started on Thursday and thankfully ended on Monday (well her rash was still around on Tuesday). We took her to the doctor on Monday and they ran blood tests as they wanted to rule out another illness. 3 blood draws in 2 days...yikes. Everything is great, she is fine, and a super strong little girl. I have to add that she didn't cry, blink, move, nothing at 2 of the 3 blood draws. By the 3rd time she was tired of it. She didn't really cry hard, but was just irritated at being in the "scary" doctor's office again. All of the phlebotomists were so shocked at how well she did (even at the one she cried at). The afterhours care doctor said that Macey had Roseola. Her doctor just wanted to rule everything out.
So now my excellent sleeper has turned into a not so excellent sleeper. Since Thursday of last week she's been getting up at 2-3am and then staying up for a while. She was getting up at that time because she was burning up with a fever. However, she hasn't stopped waking up at that time even though she doesn't have a fever anymore. I'm hoping for a quick adjustment period back to her sleeping until a decent hour.
Miles and Camryn haven't shown any signs of illness, so maybe we've avoided getting them sick. Miles's new thing is coughing. No, not a sick cough, but a cough to get your attention. Or to see if anyone is paying attention. If you start coughing back at him he gives you a sheepish grin. He's got this game figured out. Camryn's new thing is pushing air in and out of her nose quickly, so making a panting noise, but with her nose. She does that and smiles as she does it. She's a funny one. Macey loves going with me in the mornings to greet the babies and get them out of their crib. If she hears them up, she will run to their door and start knocking. Macey has also picked up making the doorbell sound. She uses this sound when she gets up. It cracks me up to hear her say from her crib "doo doo" (in the sing song sound of a doorbell). She's letting us know that she's "here". If that doesn't work then she resorts to saying "Daddy pause Daddy pause Momma". She also makes the doorbell noise if someone goes to the bathroom and closes the door. She'll stand outside the door and knock and then do the sing song sound for the doorbell.

AMOM picnic
Sunday we went to a picnic that was put on by AMOM. We enjoyed talking with other parents of multiples and enjoyed the beautiful weather. There was a group of us that delivered our babies really close together (within a week or so). Miranda (mom to Creed and Truman) has a blog and has posted a picture of most of the October babies "hanging" out at the picnic. In the picture are 9 babies..3 sets of twins, 1 set of triplets and that's not all of them as 2 sets of October twins weren't at the picnic. That's a lot of babies.

Happy 1/2 Birthday!
My babies are 6 months old today! They are growing and growing. I'll try to post some pictures later this week (maybe this weekend).
I consider Camryn mobile as she scoots and rolls on the floor to get to where she wants to go. Miles can do the same thing and sometimes does, but he would rather have one on one attention. It's been fun watching them go for each others toys. So Miles can be playing with something and Camryn will reach up and grab it out of his hands and vice versa. It's fun at this age because they don't throw a fit when it happens..."toy's gone, ok, what else can I play with...Mommy's face, Daddy's hands, Macey's hair."
I drive by the hospital where all my kids were born often and I can't help but think back to the days of their births. Special days. Just amazing.

No sleep
You'd think I'd now write about how Miles/Camryn woke up around the clock, but uh, NO. Macey decided that she didn't need to sleep last night. She went to bed fine, fell asleep fine, but then around 1am (maybe an hour after I'd gone to bed) she started crying. Macey still cries in her sleep, so I thought nothing of it and she seemed to go back to sleep. But then around 3am I look at the monitor and Macey is jumping in her crib and talking. So at that time I had to go check on her to make sure she was okay. And yep, she was fine. Being lazy and tired I decided to bring her into the bed with us. Bad IDEA! I mistakenly thought that she'd have no problems falling asleep with us since she spent almost her entire first year sleeping with us. Whatever the extreme opposite of sleep is, she did. Finally in shear exhaustion I asked Sean if he could take her and deal with her. They went downstairs. I was about to fall back asleep and I hear Macey back in our room. The next thing I know she's on my side of the bed yelling "Momma". Long story short I finally get her down around 6am, just in time for me to lay my head down for another hour since the babies wake up around 7am. There's always a silver lining in every story and I can say that I was able to spend some needed one on one time with my little girl rubbing her back, reading to her, and singing to her even if that meant I sacrificed my sleep. There will be plenty of years of sleeping for me, but I won't always get to have such sweet moments with my Macey.
In other news, I donated my hair to Locks of Love today. Back to short hair for me. It got too high maintenance for me. Long hair takes too long to dry, too long to wash, too long to brush out. It's so short that the hair at the lowest part of my neck (so the underneath hair) is not even an inch long...uh, the girl used a razor...it's short.

Bunny picture
Ok, so I don't have them scanned in yet, but will try to get them scanned it. On Sunday I took advantage of having Brianna here to help and we went for a long shopping spree (seriously, I think this was the longest shopping spree since way before the babies were born). Our last stop was Wal-Mart. I decided to get the oil changed in the car, so we were killing time in Wal-Mart. They had an Easter bunny there and were giving free pictures away (who can pass up free pictures of your child with the Easter bunny). Like every other kid her age, the moving, talking, big, scary bunny wasn't on Macey's to do list. She was okay for a little bit after I left her on his lap, but after that, forget it. So yes, I'm proud to say I have the screaming, crying picture of her sitting in the Easter bunny's lap. (whew, I can check that off my list now). I wasn't about to unload the babies as well, so I'll have to check that off my list for them a little later.
I decided to give the babies their first taste of rice cereal this evening. I can't say that this was the first time they've eaten anything besides milk as Macey has tried to share her food with them. They really haven't eaten it, but I'm sure they've gotten a taste of whatever she was shoving, er I mean, sharing with them. It's so fun to have two babies to watch their completely different reaction to this new experience. Miles acted like a pro. He already had it figured out and kept grabbing at the spoon wanting more. I couldn't shovel it in fast enough. Camryn ate it, but wasn't too impressed. She had more fun squishing it through her toothless gums and tongue.
