It's been a few weeks/months (I don't know) since I talked about what the kids are up to. So here I go.
Macey continues to be a typical toddler with the social butterfly personality she got from her daddy. When we go for walks (she's not confined to a stroller on these walks), she waves at the cars as they go by, she wants to ring doorbells at random houses, and stops to try to talk to other "babies" (which is defined as anyone that isn't an adult, per Macey). We ran into a neighbor who has a little girl that is about 7 months older than Macey. That little girl was shy, but Macey went right up and started talking to her. Macey was sad when we went our separate ways. She's into pretend play. Her baby dolls (well, she also uses stuffed animals as baby dolls) get to swing in the babies' swings, sit in the stroller, and anything else Macey decides to do with them. We got her a toy stroller and she loves it. And talk on the phone...let me tell you, she will chat your ear off on the phone. She will go on and on and on, most of it is her own language.
Miles is such a funny little guy. He loves when I make funny noises and play "boo, there you are" with him. He cracks up every time and I mean belly laughs. Generally if you are silly he'll laugh at you. Sometimes he will crinkle his noise when he smiles, so cute when he does it. He's just a tad bit attached to me (men and their love for women starts early). He can be fine, but if I come into his view then he will immediately let me know that I need to get him. And I think he gets a little "jealous" when I pick up Camryn (and my mom confirmed this). I had noticed that if both of them were playing on the playmat and I was sitting there with them and then I picked up Camryn, Miles will watch me pick her up and immediately start to fuss. He did the same thing with my mom. He continues to be my noise maker. He's always got something to talk about (hmmm, that sounds familiar...who else likes to talk and likes to be the center of attention...hmmm).
Camryn is my low-key gal. But don't underestimate her, as she's definitely got a voice. She will play and play and play...and not hear much from her the whole time. She is very focused and very observant. She doesn't think I'm that funny (she'll smile and chuckle, but doesn't crack up as much as Miles does) when I act silly with her . When you tickle her she's got that squeal laugh, cracks me up every time I hear it. And bathtime...man, this girl LOVES her baths. She always has. I feel so bad when I take her out because she has so much fun (bathtime is assembly line for me). She's got that big open mouth smile that lights up her entire face. Eating is serious for her. Don't take it away from her for ANY reason. That is unless you want to see a baby go through withdrawal. It's not pretty.
I was just thinking how Miles and Camryn are almost 6 months old and how it will be what seems like tomorrow when they are walking, talking and feeding themselves. Once they become mobile it just seems like everything is on warp speed and you turn around and you have a toddler. Not to mention that Macey is about to turn 2. Last night when I was putting her to bed she fell asleep. I cradled her in my arms, stared down at her face and had a flashback of her being an infant. After I laid her down I convinced myself that that is a normal part of being a mom...they'll always be that tiny baby to you.

Big storm
Ok, well it wasn't as big as some I've been in, but it was pretty big. If you ask Macey it was too big. Around 6pm tonight a thunderstorm came through with large hail, rain, thunder, etc. If you're a good blog follower, then you know that 6pm is bathtime. I give Macey her bath in our bathroom which has a big garden tub with one of those LARGE windows above it. I mention this because the hail hitting the window was quite loud and Macey wasn't too keen on that. She wanted out of the tub. I lifted the shades to show her what was going on and stood in the tub with her to bathe her. She still wasn't too sure about the loud noise of the large hail hitting the window. I wasn't too sure of it myself (it was relatively large hail and there was a lot of it). I finished her bath and got her out and she kept telling me "raining" while pointing to the window. I think this was the most hail I've seen. It looked like snow accumulating on the ground there was so much of it. I tried to take a picture of it with my phone, but couldn't get it to come out. It was pretty impressive though, you'll have to trust me.

Happy Anniversary

It's been a year...
So this is the week we not only found out we were pregnant, but that we were having twins. Sunday, March 9, 2008 (well, I guess it was technically the 10th since it was 2am in the morning) is when we found out we were pregnant and then March 13 is when I went to the doctor ALONE and found out it was twins (at 7 weeks and 1 day pregnant). That's a day I'll never forget, neither of us will.
That weekend of the 9th we had gone to my parents house because they had tickets to the rodeo. Friday night we went to see John Legend, Saturday we went to an event at a ranch, and then on Sunday Brianna went to see Hanna Montana with my nieces and mom. So an exhausting weekend. I felt so tired on Sunday that I had that pregnancy induced nap feeling (while not knowing I was pregnant). Sean interrupted that nap feeling and about got his head bit off. We made it back home around 2am...and the rest is history.

Two baths...
During Macey's bathtime last night I was able to bathe the babies while she was playing in the tub. This was the first time in months that I've been able to do that because Macey is ready to get out before I'm able to bathe the babies. Being able to do that made it much faster at getting the babies down for the night. So tonight I figured I'd try to do the same thing. Of course Macey wanted out as soon as I got Camryn out of the bouncy seat to bathe her. Since we were ahead of schedule (no, I'm not a by the minute type, but a roughly around the same time type) tonight I decided to just get Macey dressed and then have her "help" me bathe the babies. I sit the tub on the floor of the bathroom and we bathe Camryn. Macey enjoyed it. But I hadn't had the chance to get organized for the babies baths, so there weren't any diapers readily available (meaning in our room). I take Camryn with me (Miles is still in his bouncy seat at this point) and get a diaper. I come back and Macey had made herself comfortable in the baby bathtub, clothes and all. I laid Camryn down to get her dressed and Macey was thoroughly enjoying herself in the tub, leaning back and all. The water filled diaper finally got to her so that was enough of her second bath of the night.
